What a 52-Week Low Tells You

A one-year low is where the market's worst recent verdict on a company sits.

A Line Traders Watch

The 52-week low is printed on every quote page, so buyers and sellers act around it. A close through it often draws more selling; a hold near it is where rebounds tend to start. Either way, these are the names where the next move is being decided.

How It Is Computed

For each constituent we take the last 52 weekly bars from Yahoo Finance and find the lowest weekly low. The screen matches when the latest weekly close sits at most 5% above it. A stock needs a full year of history to be screened at all.

What It Is Not

A 52-week low is not a bottom. Falling prices can keep making new lows for months. The filter shows where a price sits against its own past year, not whether the stock is cheap or the decline is over.

Get told when the list changes

This screen runs once a week. One email when something moved, with the filter result and the six composite indicators.

At most one email a week, and only in weeks something actually moved. No account, one click to unsubscribe, and the address is never shared.
